Newborn baby session give away Military families

Going Personal…

So I am going to get a little personal here, and share a bit about myself and my family. Before posting details about the newborn baby session giveaway for Military families.  Almost a year ago my son Jacob joined the United States Army. As a mother, I could not be more proud of my son for his choice. And as a mother, I also was sad, scared, worried, and afraid; this was my baby boy. He graduated high school at the end of May, and left at the beginning of July.

Last summer was like a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Not knowing his future with the army worried me to death, I am a planner, I like to know what is happening and I have never really been spontaneous. So, not knowing where he was going to be stationed, not being able to talk to him on a phone and hear his voice during bootcamp. Not being able to make sure he was O.k., and in the back of my mind the worry of him possibly being deployed someday. So many worries, to many, it was so overwhelming.

My son had really never been away from home and in my eyes, I still pictured him to be my little boy. After a few weeks we were eventually able to communicate via mail, the old fashion way. Good old letters, paper and pen. I checked the mail everyday, and the days I got his letters were the best days ever. Needless to say he made it through boot camp, and one of the most incredible and proudest days as his mother was watching him graduate. My boy, my son,  my solider. As a parent that is all we ever want right? To see our children succeed.

Since becoming a of the Military Family, I have developed such a new found and deeper respect, for all the men & women who serve our country. The sacrifices families make are so selfless and heroic. They do it for you, for me, for our country, and our freedom. They serve voluntarily and often in rough conditions. I have made a lot of friends whose husbands or wives are in the service. Some of them have small children, new babies, or are pregnant, their spouses are being deployed and are gone for six, nine months, a year, or even longer. Some continue on for multiple deployments spending years away from their families.

So, with that said as of today, June 24, 2016, I will be hosting a MDP Give’s Back giveaway. I’m offering a free newborn session away to an active service member’s immediate family.

WELCOME

Hi there, I am Melissa. We moved to Arizona when I was five years old, so I consider myself a desert native. I am the mother of three wonderful children, a wife to an amazingly loving and extremely intelligent man, and a lover of animals. (We live on a small farm) I am the proud pet owner of a Chocolate Lab, miniature wiener dog, 26 chickens, 2 goats, a horse, and a miniature horse named Switch. Photography has always been a passion of mine, and 13 years ago I was able to form a successful small business doing what I love. I feel so blessed that God gave me this gift that I can pass along to others and bless them with.
