Gilbert Baby Pictures
I love baby Southern, yes that is her name, and how cool is it? Her family is from Puerto Rico, but they came here to specifically to have their baby. Thankfully they were staying in Gilbert, and she booked with me before Southern was born to take her Baby Pictures. Mom said something along the lines of ,” I looked at your website, and I know you photograph neutral & earthy tones, but I LOVE COLOR. ” So mama got Color! I love this headband from The Dainty Miss, and this posing fabric from Fancy Fabric & Props.
Southern was such a sweetheart, and she was so squishy, and bendy, and curly. She came to see me at the perfect time, she came within the first week of life. This is why I always stress to my parents that I photograph newborn babies from 7-12 days new. They sleep like a gem and they allow me to put them into these sweet poses. To most newborns these poses just come naturally because this is how they curl up in mom’s belly, and Southern was little Ms. Curly Sue.
Mom did want to do some photographs in an earthy tone, and I love this. We totally caught a smile. Babies this young sometimes will sneak in a neonatal smile and that normally occurs during REM sleep. Their little tummies start moving up and down, then fast, then slow. They make all kinds face during this sleep, I love it!
I was so excited to do sibling pictures with these adorable 3 little girls, and again, we totally got a smile! And all three were looking at the camera!
I love to photograph new moms with their babies. Most moms do not want their picture taken right after they have just had a baby. I have to tell you though, all of my moms have said that they were so happy I encouraged them to do it. New moms have this loving glow and they will only be able to hold that tiny newborn in their arms for a short period of time.
Thank you so much to this family for choosing me to take Southern’s newborn pictures! As always I feel so blessed!
Love,
Mel
