Gilbert, Arizona Photographer

Double blog post today. I love love my Gunner. He was my birthday present this month, completely unexpected, and something I have wished for and dreamt about someday having. Most nights when everyone is asleep I lie in bed and Pin, I am a Pinterest addict. I have pinned some adorable chocolate labs over the last year, and put them under my “I want” board. Really didn’t think anything else of it. When my husband asked if there was anything “special” I wanted this year, I smiled and told him how content and happy I was, and later text him a picture of a chocolate lab. I think I jokingly said, ” this please. ”  He laughed and said, ” Yah right.” To my surprise he had found my Gunner from a breeder and he became my dog. We have two other dogs that I love with all my heart, one came with my husband before we were married, and the other he is more my son’s dog. Gunner is my buddy. I taught him to sit and high five this week, and I am super proud. Today I photographed him for the first time, with some of my backdrops from Lemondrop Stop backdrops that just came in. I had bought him the cutest doggie tie, and thought we would give it a whirl. Can I say, not easy, and MANY MANY kudos to all of you Pet photographers out there. HE wanted to do everything but sit! Pounce at my camera lens, trying to lick the floor, chew his paw, and lay down.  I was however lucky enough to get this photograph of him, and I have to tell you, I am in love! This bad boy’s going on my desk!

I rarely post any personal posts about myself, so I was happy to share with you a piece of my little world.

For those of you who have asked, the drop I used for this was Nordic, and the link to the website to purchase is here:

Love and blessings,

Hi there, I am Melissa. We moved to Arizona when I was five years old, so I consider myself a desert native. I am the mother of three wonderful children, a wife to an amazingly loving and extremely intelligent man, and a lover of animals. (We live on a small farm) I am the proud pet owner of a Chocolate Lab, miniature wiener dog, 26 chickens, 2 goats, a horse, and a miniature horse named Switch. Photography has always been a passion of mine, and 13 years ago I was able to form a successful small business doing what I love. I feel so blessed that God gave me this gift that I can pass along to others and bless them with.
